I know true matcha lovers are probably going to come for me, but I absolutely love the individual matcha packets from Trader Joe’s. They’re easy, convenient, and every time I open one it feels super fresh. The matcha powder is also such a bright, vibrant green, which I’ve heard is a sign of good quality — and honestly, that’s about as far as my matcha expertise goes lol.
When I’m craving matcha or just a yummy little morning drink, this is one of my go-to recipes. It’s one of those drinks that once you make it, you’ll be craving it again the next day… and the next day after that.
There’s just something about making a fun little drink in your favorite glass cup that makes an ordinary morning feel more special.
For this recipe, I use one of those milk frothers that warms and spins the milk for you, which makes the whole process ridiculously easy. I pour in Trader Joe’s vanilla almond milk, which I know is not the healthiest almond milk in the world. There are definitely cleaner options out there with less sugar and fewer additives, but honestly, sometimes when I want a delicious, sweet, creamy matcha, this is just the one I reach for.
Sometimes you simply have to live your best life.
As the milk frother warms and spins the almond milk, I add in one Trader Joe’s matcha packet along with about one to two teaspoons of Trader Joe’s agave, depending on how sweet I want it that day.
Once it’s done, I grab my favorite glass cup and fill it all the way to the top with ice. Then I pour in a little more almond milk, filling the cup about halfway, before slowly pouring the warm frothy matcha mixture over top.
Watching that vibrant green matcha swirl down into the almond milk is honestly one of the most satisfying parts.
It’s simple, cozy, refreshing, and takes barely any effort at all.
Not me realizing this entire recipe is basically one giant Trader Joe’s ad lol. Trader Joe’s, please sponsor me 🍵
